        Taxonomy

Tier 1 → Tier 2 → Tier 3. The same taxonomy the BD Strategist uses for matching and the same one we tag firms and placements with. Synced from the "Taxonomy" tab of the Database sheet — edit there and the change flows through on the next sync.

        Big Brain

The chat tab. Ask it anything you'd otherwise look up by clicking through firms, placements, or executives. It'll do the lookup for you.

        What works well:

        • "Have we placed any CFOs at women's-health companies in the last 3 years?"
        • "Show me everything we know about Arsenal Capital."
        • "Prepare a pitch for a CFO search at a Series B home-health company."
        • "Which investors have we worked with on revenue cycle deals?"

        Tips:

        • Be specific. Sub-sector, role level, time window — all sharpen results.
        • Spell out ambiguous acronyms (CMO = Chief Medical Officer or Chief Marketing Officer?). Big Brain will ask but you save a round-trip.
        • For pitch prep, just say "prepare pitch for [company] [role]." It pulls placements, investor overlap, and analogs.
        Projects (PMT)

Every search gets a Project Management Tracker with a templated task list across Overview and Calibration tabs.

        • Create a project via the + New Search button. Pick Partner/S1/S2 from the dropdowns — those become the project's team.
        • Assign tasks using the per-row dropdown, or check the boxes that appear on hover and use Assign selected… for bulk. Assignees are restricted to the project's team.
        • Slack notifications batch automatically. Assignment digest fires every 30 min; due-date reminders go out daily at 8 AM ET for tasks due today, due tomorrow, or overdue.
        • Mark complete by checking the box on the left. The task gets stamped with who completed it and when.
        Filters across tabs

Firms and Placements both support multi-filter narrowing. Each Tier dropdown cascades — picking Tier 1 narrows what shows in Tier 2 and Tier 3.

        • Firms: Type (Investor/Company/Client) + Tier 1/2/3 + Conditions + Reset.
        • Placements: Level + Function + Project Type + Backing + Tier 1/2/3 + Conditions + date range + Reset.
        • Investor filtering: when you filter Firms by Tier or Condition with "Investors" selected (or All Types), investors match if EITHER they themselves OR any portfolio company matches.
        Pitch slide generation

From the Placements tab: hover over the rows you want, check the box on the left of each one, then click Generate Slides. A two-slide deck (logos + placements table) is created in Google Slides and opens in a new tab.

        • Logos sit in a centered grid. Logos are looked up by Client ID first, then by name.
        • If you pick more than 25 logos or 30 placements, content auto-splits across multiple slides. A confirm dialog tells you in advance.
        • Pick the service (ChasmSearch / ChasmTeam / Partners) before generating.
        Your morning brief

The 6:30 AM Slack DM. What's in it:

        • Narrative — one-paragraph read of your day.
        • Calendar — your Google events with attendee context.
        • Email Highlights — actionable threads from the last 24 hours.
        • Client Watch — Google News on companies you've placed at.
        • BD Opportunities — deals we could pitch (🎯). Relationship Touchpoints (🤝) are firms we know — congrats outreach, not a new pitch.
        • Market News — opt-in. Off by default.

Toggle sections in Settings → Daily Brief Sections.

        Sheet syncs

Several tabs of the Database sheet are the source of truth for what's in Ariadne. Edit those, and the next sync flows through:

        • Project Import → placements + the canonical client list. Sync runs daily.
        • Client Enrichment → for each client: tier tags, conditions, website, description, value prop, target clients, investors, backing. Daily.
        • Priority PE Portcos → investor → portco relationships, tagged + enriched. Weekly. Investors here get priority_investor = TRUE.
        • Taxonomy → the tier tree above. Weekly.

Clients can't be edited in the UI — they're sheet-managed. If you notice a client is missing or has stale info, fix the relevant tab. The morning placement sync also DMs me if a new client lands in Project Import without a matching row in Client Enrichment.

        Timezone

Auto-detected from your browser at every login. Travel and your brief follows — calendar entries render in local time.

If it picks wrong (VPN, etc.), override it in Settings → Timezone. The next login will re-detect, so the manual setting only sticks while your browser reports that zone.

        Keep this current

Update HubSpot last-contacted dates. The "last spoke to X on Y" lines in BD opportunities pull straight from HubSpot. If you logged a call there yesterday, it shows up in tomorrow's brief.

        Bugs and feature requests

DM me on Slack. What you saw, what you expected, screenshot if you have one. I'll get to it.
